That quick little line drawing to share for coloring in turned into a little flame of inspiration. This weekend I worked on a new poster: Pumpkins!

What started from pencil drawings evolved into a colorful depiction of a variety of pumpkins found in notable seed catalogs such as Baker CreekD. Landreth, and Territorial. The result is a gritty but pretty identification poster with a few extra notes particular to each variety.

All shapes and sizes

There are times {times being the last 3 months} where I sit down to draw and nothing comes out. I just sit there and stare at the blank page, put down a few ugly, uncomfortable lines, put the pens away, and give the paper to Mabel to draw on.

Yesterday I decided I just had to do it, make the ugly lines and let it happen.

Everything kind of turned out alright! I mean, it's no life changing work of art, but sometimes you just have to work through it and finish something. Maybe coloring or doodling all over the pumpkins will help you work through a creative block of your own, or maybe you've got some down time at work...whatever the reason, coloring is fun, so print it and color it, then show me what you've done!

I turned the jpg into a PDF and posted it on the internet so you can print it out.

A Mish-Mash Bouquet

For those that didn't get "The Official Announcement" on Facebook, I've been splitting my time quietly griping in my head (and griping out loud to Charlie), napping, and doing a little bit of tending to everything else as I can.  See, for some crazy reason we decided to add another little person to our family. So far it's about the size of a grape and I'm hoping my moodiness is no reflection on that of what to expect from kiddo #2.

Right now it's all a pretty interesting, queasy experience that I seem to have blocked from the first go-round. Through it all, and trying to keep up with the everyday, perhaps life can best be described as a mish- mash bouquet.

Tater Tot

I had grand expectations of a winter-long delicious Kennebec potato binge. We had 3 bins planted, and several 15 foot long rows in the ground. A few weeks ago Mabel and I emptied 2 bins and found about 3 potatoes. Several days ago we dug up the rows and found what you see here. One of the beauties of having M around while gardening?

Our sweet little tater tot is a cheerleader for even the smallest of bounties!
